It probably goes without saying: I love coffee, the rituals around it, and the thrill of discovering new spots. It’s a passion, plain and simple. And as this obsession continues to grow, I figured it was time to turn it into something: a guide series.
For this first edition, I’ve picked five independent coffee shops that consistently deliver — places I go back to again and again. These are my personal favorites. The kind of spots that make mornings better.

Ozone
This one’s right at the top of my list — and honestly, it feels like the beating heart of London’s third wave scene. At Ozone, coffee is serious business. They experiment with flavor profiles and constantly surprise you with bold, thoughtful brews. Pair your cup with one of their brunch plates — your day will hit different. Don’t forget to grab a bag of beans before you leave. The experience deserves to come home with you.
Watch House
Even though it’s grown into a small chain, Watch House has managed to hold onto its soul. Every location is a masterclass in design — warm, modern, perfectly balanced. The coffee program is seasonal and smart. It’s a reliable stop for a quality break, without ever feeling generic. Stylish without trying too hard.
Nagare
Nagare is London through a Japanese lens: minimal, quiet, intentional. Here, coffee feels like a ritual. Every pour is precise, every movement deliberate. It’s one of my go-to spots for writing, reading, or just doing nothing. Add this one to your list — trust me.
ZerotoOne
One of my more recent discoveries — and it quickly became a favorite. ZerotoOne is more than a coffee shop; it’s a roastery with a calming, curated vibe. They’re bold with their beans and unafraid to explore new wave roasting styles. Chat with the baristas. Ask about the origins. You’ll leave more caffeinated and more informed. A place that treats coffee like a learning experience.
Rosslyn
Amid the city’s chaos, Rosslyn is a high-functioning pit stop. Whether you're grabbing and going or sipping while standing at the counter, this place knows how to move. Precision service, hot coffee, strong flavor. There’s a definite Aussie influence here — especially in the milk-based drinks.
I also loved their collab with the Financial Times — if you spot any of those beans still in rotation, don’t hesitate to try them.
This guide is just the beginning. If you're chasing great coffee around London, stay tuned — more recommendations are on the way.
Have a favorite of your own? Let me know — it might just make the next list.
